Therapy for Women in Queer Relationships Available in Portland, OR
As a therapist, Arielle Fettman, MA, LMFT, is passionate about providing affirming, thoughtful therapy for women in queer relationships in Portland, Oregon. I have experience supporting individuals navigating the unique dynamics that can arise in queer partnerships, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen, respected, and understood. Whether you’re working through relationship challenges, exploring your identity, or seeking personal growth, my goal is to offer meaningful counseling that helps you feel more grounded and connected.
Why Women in Queer Relationships Seek Therapy
Like all individuals, women in queer partnerships may experience challenges such as communication struggles, conflict, or emotional disconnection. At the same time, there can be additional layers, including navigating identity, managing family dynamics, or coping with societal pressures and discrimination.
Life transitions, shifting relationship roles, or differing emotional needs can also create stress within a partnership. These experiences can sometimes feel isolating, especially without the right support. As a counselor, I provide a space where you can explore these challenges openly and work toward healthier patterns, both within yourself and your relationship.
My Approach to Therapy
I approach therapy for women in queer relationships with authenticity, curiosity, and compassion. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship begins with being genuine, and I strive to show up fully present with each client. In our work together, I often use “parts” language to help make sense of thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and beliefs.
At times, these parts may seem to contradict one another—one part may seek closeness, while another may fear vulnerability. By becoming more aware of these parts, we can begin to understand how they are working to protect you. I believe it’s important to approach these parts with self-compassion and without judgment. This process can lead to greater emotional balance, insight, and empowerment.
