I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling.
During my Masters Program I worked as a Family Therapy Intern at Peace Health Family Medicine of SW Washington in downtown Vancouver where I served individuals, couples, and families with a variety of needs. After earning my Masters Degree, I joined a community mental health agency as a school-based therapist working with teens and pre-teens and their families. Here I became certified as a Child Mental Health Specialist. In 2018, I was introduced to Internal Family Systems (IFS) through a Continuing Education course, which sparked a passion for this theory and approach to healing. I graduated from the Internal Family Systems Institute Level 1 IFS training in January of 2021. I will be working through an IFS Level 2 training throughout 2022. (To learn more about Internal Family Systems, please refer to the section regarding ‘My Approach’ to therapy.)
While I do identify as an LMFT with specialized training in IFS, perhaps more importantly I identify simply as a human with a desire to know people, understand them, and provide them with tools to alleviate suffering. I genuinely care about people and their well-being, which is why I entered this field.
I continually engage in post-graduate training specific to Internal Family Systems, trauma, attachment, and resilience. I also engage in my own personal “parts work” in order to show up with curiosity, clarity, compassion, and creativity for my clients.
When I am not working you can find me spending quality time with my two young children, riding my horse, or snuggling with my dogs.
